Sports

The sports industry is constantly changing; it is characterized by an increasing regulation, commercialization and interrelation with other sectors. Agreements by handshake and similar are things of the past. The social interest in the world of sports is high; sports law proceedings (civil, criminal and disciplinary) are closely followed by the media. In such a challenging and dynamic environment professional legal advice is essential.

Walder Wyss offers a comprehensive and competent support to sports federations, athletes, agents, sponsors, marketing companies and the other relevant actors in a broad range of sports-related matters on national and on an international level. Namely, we assist in contractual matters (incl. transfers) and represent parties before state courts and arbitral tribunals such as, for example, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the FIFA and UEFA bodies, the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) and the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal.

Moreover, our team is represented in various pertinent organizations, amongst others in the Association Suisse de Droit du Sport (ASDS) or in the International Sports Lawyers Association (ISLA), and carry out diverse functions in the sports world.

  • "I would rate their client service overall as exceptional, and they helped us with complex work."
