Urs Bracher

Urs Bracher heads the Legal Tech & Knowledge Management team. In this capacity, he oversees the evaluation, rollout, integration and operation of the Legal Tech and Knowledge Management toolset used at Walder Wyss. He specializes in tailoring the configurations of the Legal Tech tools to use cases which benefit both attorneys and their clients. In particular, he has multiple years of experience in document automation.

Urs Bracher studied law at the universities of Zurich and St. Gallen (lic. iur. UZH, 2012). Before switching to law, he studied Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET) as well as Industrial Management and Manufacturing (D-BEPR) at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ).

After completing his degree in law, he worked in law firms for several years, gaining experience in contract law, corporate law, M&A as well as transfer pricing. He completed a CAS in Legal Counsel at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW (2016) and a CAS in Legal Tech - AI for Legal Practice" at the Swiss Distance Learning University FFHS (2024).

Combining his backgrounds in law and technology, Urs Bracher joined Walder Wyss as a Legal Engineer and Knowledge Manager in 2019. He introduced a multitude of key applications that support the legal workflow, in particular the creation of legal documents, AI-powered document analysis tools and my.walderwyss, a multi-functional, client-facing collaboration portal.

The professional languages of Urs Bracher are German and English with basic knowledge of French and Spanish. He can code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript and has basic knowledge of C, C++, Java, Python and SQL.
