Before joining Walder Wyss in 2001, he gained working experience as clerk at the civil court Basel, trainee in a Basel law firm and associate in Zurich and London law firms.

Francis Nordmann is recognized as leading real estate practictioner by Chambers and PLC. He speaks German, English, French and Hebrew. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.

Valens Clinics acquire Rheinburg Clinics

On 17 December 2014, the Foundation Kliniken Valens und Walenstadtberg, Pfäfers (Valens Clinics) and the shareholders of the Rheinburg Clinics signed and closed a share purchase agreement pursuant to which the Valens Clinics acquired all shares in the Rheinburg Clinics, including the real property of the Rheinburg Clinics.  

The Rheinburg Clinics in Walzenhausen offers a tailored treatment concept for neurological and orthopaedic conditions. With this acquisition, the Valens Clinics increases the number of rehabilitation beds to 260 and the number of employees to more than 800, becoming one of the biggest rehabilitation centres in Switzerland.

Walder Wyss AG has advised the acquiror on all legal aspects of this transaction. The team has been led by Alexander Nikitine (Managing Associate, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A) and furhter included Francis Nordmann (Partner, Real Estate), Sarah Schultthess (Associate, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A), Robert von Rosen (Managing Associate, Corporate/M&A), Janine Corti (Associate, Tax), David M. Alcatel-Lucent Switzerland Ltd. sells its Zurich based headquarter

We advised Alcatel-Lucent Switzerland Ltd. in the course of the execution of its pre-emption right relating to its Zurich based headquarter and the subsequent sale of such real estate to swiss public listed real estate company which closed on 28 February 2014. Moreover, we assisted Alcatel-Lucent Switzerland Ltd. regarding the lease of some of its premises sold to the real estate company.

Walder Wyss’ team included Francis Nordmann (Partner, Real Estate), Maurus Winzap (Partner, Tax), Jan Ole Luuk (Counsel, Tax) and David Borer (Associate, Banking Finance).


Sale of Hospital Villa im Park to Genolier Group

Genolier Swiss Medical Network SA (SIX: AEVS), a network of private hospitals in Switzerland, acquired Villa im Park AG, an attending doctor hospital in Rothrist. As a member of the «Swiss Leading Hospitals» Villa im Park belongs to the leading private hospitals in Switzerland.

Walder Wyss was acting as legal advisor to the Sellers. The team was led by Alexander Nikitine (Managing Associate, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A) und included Francis Nordmann (Partner, Banking Finance), David Hadad (Associate, Capital Markets, M&A), Dominik Hohler (Associate, M&A), Maurus Winzap (Partner, Tax), Peter Hongler (Associate, Tax) and Mirjam Durrer (Junior Associate, Banking Finance).


Sale of Wankdorf Center

In the course of the sale of the Wankdorf Shopping Center to two UBS real estate funds and a pension fund relating to UBS AG, Walder Wyss advised the seller of the Wankdorf Shopping Center. The transaction represents the largest investment of the UBS real estate funds involved. Walder Wyss' team consisted of partner Francis Nordmann and senior associate Elisabeth Moskric.
