Markus Vischer is a partner at Walder Wyss since 1995. His main areas of practice are M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions, business reorganizations and corporate and commercial incl. employment and real estate law. He is a recognized leader in M&A due to his involvement in major transactions, in particular in the media-, real estate-, IT and health care area, and due to his many publications.

Born in 1960, Markus Vischer was educated at the University of Zurich (lic. iur. 1984, Dr. iur. 1986) and at the Queen Mary College, London University (LL.M. 1991). He has working experience as a research assistant at the University of Zurich, as a District Court clerk and as an associate in a tax law firm in Zurich and in a law firm in London.

Markus Vischer speaks German, English and French. He is registered with the Zurich Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all Switzerland.

IRC acquires majority in Transa

On 1 September 2015 International Retail Corporation SA, Givisiez (IRC) acquired a majority stake in Transa Backpacking AG, Zurich, a leading Swiss supplier of Outdoor Equipment, from the founders and other shareholders. Globetrotter Holding AG remains second largest shareholder in Transa. IRC is owned by Beat Zaugg, co-shareholder of Scott Corporation SA, Givisiez.

Walder Wyss has advised IRC in the transaction. Courion acquires Bay31

Courion, the market leading provider of intelligent identity governance and administration (IGA) solutions, has acquired Swiss based Bay31 AG, an innovative provider of advanced access governance solutions.

ING sells Designer Outlet Landquart

ING Real Estate has sold the Designer Outlet Landquart to a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established by a London based investment fund. Following this transaction, the former owner of the real estate, the Swiss company ING Real Estate Development Alpenrhein AG, Zurich, will be dissolved and liquidated.

Walder Wyss advised ING in the transaction. Tamedia acquires Ricardo-Group

Tamedia Ltd. acquires the Ricardo-Group, which runs the auction platform ricardo.ch, vehicle platform autoricardo.ch, the classified advertisement homepage olx.ch and the online shopping center ricardoshops.ch, for CHF 240 million. The Ricardo-Group employs about 190 people in Switzerland and a development team with 30 members in France. Ricardo.ch is Switzerland's biggest online marketplace, realized total revenues of about CHF 40 million in 2014 and has 2.3 million members. The transaction is subject to Swiss Competition Commission approval.

Migros acquires Lüchinger+Schmid-Group

Migros, Switzerland's largest retail company and largest supermarket chain, acquires, through its subsidiary Saviva Swiss Food Services, Lüchinger+Schmid-Group, Switzerland’s leading egg manufacturer and processing company and thereby expands its egg business. Lüchinger+Schmid-Group employs about 270 people in eight sale and two production locations in Flawil SG and Kloten ZH and in 2012 realized total revenues of about CHF 200 million. The transaction is subject to Swiss Competition Commission approval.
